Hey guys, I have set up a Hamburg Matten filter in my upsized Sunkist neo tank. What are people's experience with these and if so were there many cons

Never used one but from what i hear they need minimal cleaning and give you a great water quality due to the massive surface area for beneficial bacteria to grow compared with your traditional filters. A friend has had an aquarium setup with a HMF for 3 years never cleaned it. I thought he was just lazy not cleaning it but apparently they work better that way.

It is what it is, until it isn't, then it's something else entirely!

Non cleaning filter and they get better with age, wtf???  :o
