Hey guys I was wondering if anyone has tried raising Cherry's or any neos in a tub?

I've seen on the SMT shrimp group a guy here in Adelaide is keeping mixed neos in a pond all year round and breeding in the warmer months.

Has anyone had any experience or thoughts on this. I'm thinking of testing 20 culls in a 65 tub I have cycled but thought I'd ask before I put the shrimp in.. if not it's gonna be a guppy or platy tub

The answer is absolutely yes Girrig, I know a women who has a large concrete trough under her covered entertaining area who has a successful breeding colony of very nice red cherry shrimp.

When I say large, it's about 2.5M long, 600MM wide and maybe the same 600MM height and likely holds around 700 Litres of water.

I'm fairly sure the water has some form of filter/reticulation going for it but no heating and the top is covered in duckweed and something else but it works an absolute treat.

I would suggest to you to give it a red hot go.   8)
I won't accept just any kind of krap, only the highest quality krap will do!

Deft don't have something like that will give tubs a go, should I chuck in like one guppy or something for insect control?

I have a tub near my pond under shadecloth that I run a solar powered pump and sponge filter in. I have guppies, a bristlenose, and some red cherry shrimp in it. My guppies are taking over my tank in the lounge room, so I thought I would give the tub a go. So far so good. It is a 50 litre black tub from Bunnings with a clear lid a piece of cholla wood and a piece of driftwood for the bristlenose, Frogbit and Duckweed on the surface. So far so good. I started off with  a seeded sponge filter from one of my shrimp tanks, chucked everything in and it seems to be fine. I will start including photos once I work out how to make the files smaller. At the moment I can't upload because it says the file is too large.aaaaaarrrrgh. I guess I will work it out.

Been a bit broke and people keep trying to charge me 3$ each for culls. I'm gonna get some next week
