Title: Leaking tank ?
Post by: alfie42 on February 02, 2019, 03:32:41 am
Uh oh, my three foot rimless tank has sprung a leak, nothing serious just looks like a bit of silastic shrinkage so I will have a go at resealing it. Anyone know what silastic I should be using for this, any advice appreciated.  ;D

Selleys Glass.100% silicone sealant. Get it from Bunnings. 24hr cure time then you're sweet. ;)

Sika also make an Aquarium SikaSeal that is non toxic and sold at most hardware shops. Sika products are the best.

Are you considering a complete reseal or patching it? Patching is not recommended  at all, As far as product, I have used the Selleys aquarium silastic in the past and it works nicely IF your prep work is 110%.
