Neocaridina / Re: My Shrimp Tank

Thank you sabertooth and tva351 for this information, I will get rid of it tomorrow. Have not put anything in the tank for a couple of weeks when I added the ramshorn snails but I put them in one at a time and I did not see anything like this thing.

Ok, now i'm seeing things (I think) ... just went to feed the shrimp and snails and darned if I did not see the most weird creature swimming around the tank (for the first time).

It's about two centimeters long and a very bright green, has big eyes, a forky tail and walks around on six legs, wtf?

Can anybody please help me identify this ???  :o

How did I get it and where did it come from AND WHAT DO I DO WITH IT?  :'(

I use test strips that you dip in the water then test after 1min. Very accurate and they test about 8 things on the one strip. Tds meter, you need one, invaluable.

Any particular brand tva351?

I have some of these to give away to forum members if they would like some ... checkout https://shrimp-attack.com/index.php/topic,47.0.html for details.

If mine keep breeding like they have, I will have some to give away also.  :)

Snail Buddies / Re: Bladder snails

Ok, I did not know bladder snail but when pond snail got mentioned I caught on straight away. I got a couple of these with a plant I bought but not knowing what they where at the time I took them out. I think I'm glad I did because my trumpets and ramshorns are going gang busters and I probably don't need three types going crazy in my little tank.  :P

I started with a 38 litre Aquaone tank and 10 Red Cherry Shrimp, in a few months I now have dozens and dozens.  :P

OMG, not only do I have baby shrimp and baby trumpet snails, I now have what I believe are ramshorn snail eggs deposited on the glass all around the tank and just in the last day or so.

Started with 10 and if they all hatch out, there will be 100, I'm gonna need a bigger tank.  :P

That's what I use plus a bit of conditioner and everything is going great in my tank. Never heard of that rock before but will do some searching online.
